On my morning walk around the lake, I get to witness what feels like heaven.
The fresh crisp Autumn air, the sun beaming to symbolise a brand new day, the cool breeze blowing through the trees & the long chats with my baby girl, gabbing about all the wonderful things she will do in life.
The other morning I was caught in a moment by something totally random, but it stopped me in my tracks & took me on a new train of thought…
A duck was swimming by, and I couldn’t help but notice the smooth ripple of water that was trailing behind the back of it, and how it travels all the way across the pond. Just a natural flow of life.
It might sound silly, but it gave me a moment of total peace & serenity.
I was relaxed, present & aware.
Which allowed me a moment of refreshment throughout the dreary week I was in, and for that, I was thankful.
Being someone with heightened anxiety, anything that comes my way that involves a chunk of my mental stability – scares me. But I always do my best to tackle it head on & trust that I have been given the strength I need to overcome & power through.
Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. Sometimes I’m strong, sometimes I fall to pieces.
But that is the eb & flow of life.
Either way though, we need to learn to trust ourselves, to take time to spend on ourselves & recharge our batteries.
Over time – I have learnt to trust myself.
We need to listen when our world around us is prompting us to slow down, to take some time out.
What does that look like?
It might be 5 mins watching the water flow ‘behind the duck’.
It might be an hour sitting down & reading your favourite book with a fresh hot coffee.
Whatever it looks like to you – find it.
I promise you, it will be worth it.
This month for me, is all about finding balance in my daily life.
To not have to have everything perfect all the time, and to be content with living in the now.
I know I’ve said this before, but if you’re anything like me, you need to hear it a few times before it really starts to take it’s course & begin unfolding in your life.
So take this as your reminder!
You are doing great things.
I don’t have to know you personally to know that there is greatness in who you are.
I’m not talking about what others think of you or what worldly components you compare yourself to.
I’m talking about this deep down knowledge that you need to find in yourself, to know who you are, regardless of anything or anyone else!
And to commit to loving that person & giving them as much time & effort as you would, any others in your life.
So, just a little Saturday morning inspiration & (hopefully) motivation for you. Nothing too fancy.
But hopefully – it hit the spot.
Have an amazing week everyone.
Oh! And the next time you happen to waltz by a duck, swimming across the lake…
Have a ponder… and enjoy.
Big love as always.
Thank you to Dan Bohlsen Photography for the beautiful photo making all our dreams a reality even if just for a fleeting moment…
